Purpose

TEFL Org is dedicated to providing a harassment-free, educational and enjoyable experience for everyone on our classroom courses .

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for classroom course participants’ behaviour, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behaviour.

The code of conduct applies to all classroom training organised by TEFL Org.

We invite all classroom participants to help us realize a safe and positive educational experience for everyone. We request that classroom participants bring any issues to the attention of the tutor as soon as possible.

All determinations of appropriate or inappropriate behaviour are in TEFL Org's sole discretion and the decision(s) of the TEFL Org tutors on-site will be final.

Expected behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.

Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech.

Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. We request that classroom participants bring any issues to the attention of the tutor as soon as possible.

Unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

Unacceptable behaviour: intimidating, threatening, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, disruptive, derogatory, or demeaning conduct by any students on the classroom courses.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments , deliberate intimidation, stalking, inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to do so immediately.

Any boisterous, lewd or offensive behaviour or language, including but not limited to using sexually explicit or offensive language, materials or conduct, or any language, behaviour or content that contains profanity, obscene gestures, or racial, religious or ethnic slurs.

Use of phone for either calls or texting during the course. Only necessary or urgent calls or texts should be made during a course and must be completed outside of the classroom venue.

Being in possession of or being under the influence of any intoxicants or illegal substances during a course, including but not limited to narcotics, marijuana, or other illegal drugs.

Smoking or vaping (using e-cigarettes) in the course venue.

Failure to obey any rules or regulations of the venue.

Consequences of unacceptable behaviour

Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated.

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately.

We reserve the right to dismiss any student whose standard of conduct is unsatisfactory at the discretion of the tutor. This will result in failing the course and no possibility of a refund.

What to do if you witness or are subjected to unacceptable behaviour

If you are subjected to unacceptable behaviour, notice that someone else is being subjected to unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns, please notify the classroom tutor as soon as possible. All reports will remain completely confidential.

Scope

We expect all classroom course participants to abide by this code of conduct on courses organised by TEFL Org

The above policies may be revised at any time by TEFL Org and are non-negotiable. This Code of Conduct is without prejudice to TEFL Org’s rights, all of which it expressly reserves.
