We’re very proud to say that our podcast series , ‘I Taught English Abroad’, is back once again for a fourth season.
Having been
award-nominated
, receiving rave reviews across platforms and gaining a dedicated listenership, we knew we couldn’t leave you for too long. While we were delighted with season 3, suffice it to say we’ve ramped things up for our fourth offering; more episodes, more locations, more experiences and crucially, more teachers!
We’ve branched out a little, though. While teaching abroad and TEFL teaching in general are
always
the focus, we’ve also brought in some expert voices from the worlds of recruitment, teaching innovation and other areas. This way, we can tell the amazing stories of teachers who have worked overseas, but also give
you
, the listener, even more fantastic, road-tested advice.
If you’re already a teacher and you’re looking to innovate in the classroom, Betsy Potash of Now Spark Creativity provided us with a staggering episode, filled with ideas, stories and perhaps the most unlikely moment of the podcast yet!
So yes, while it is all about teaching English as a foreign language, we’ve drilled in on some of the most popular topics, all while spreading our wings.
Now, none of this is to say we’ve changed a winning formula too much. If you’re looking for tales of overseas adventure, amazing advice and anecdotes, then you’re still very much in the right place.
Take, for example, Cecilia Nobre, a Brazilian teacher who has found amazing academic opportunities in the UK through teaching. Then there’s Gav and Em from the How to English Podcast , who have brilliant stories from over 20 years of teaching. There’s Andy Korteling, the ex-engineer who decided he’d had enough and moved to Cambodia. Ilsa Strough tells us about moving to South Korea - but not where you might expect. If you’re looking for inspiration, look no further.
We’re proud, once again, to have a range of teachers from all kinds of backgrounds on our podcast. We know that these episodes can be life changing; we’ve received messages from new teachers reaching out to tell us that we gave them the boost they needed to start.
Well, if all of that isn’t enough, there’s even more amazing content about how to make yourself known online. We’ve had numerous guests tell us all about building a social presence, and if there wasn’t enough advice on the podcast already, we’ve topped it up! Whether it’s the world of podcasting, social media, video platforms or something else online, chances are we’ve got it covered.
We’ve also got some great conversations about speakerism, opportunities for non-native speakers, the pros and cons of online teaching, countries we’ve not covered on the podcast before and much, much more.
It’s our biggest and best series yet.
Good question.
