Learnlight is an EdTech company that provides English language and soft skills training to learners in more than 180 countries. It uses award-winning technology to deliver online and on-site specialised skills courses that are tailored to the needs and goals of each client. There's no doubt of its remarkable reputation, attracting clients from various sectors, such as telecom, automotive, engineering, and healthcare and providing courses for hundreds of blue chip and international institutions across the world , including Hyundai and Siemens.

Learnlight was founded in Europe in 2007 by Benjamin Joseph and David Liu, two entrepreneurs who wanted to create a new way of learning languages online. It all started with a simple platform that connected English language learners with native English speakers via video calls, but it soon expanded due to its outstanding success, offering services that include on-site training, blended and distance learning.

Learnlight developed its own award-winning technology that enabled personalised and adaptive learning experiences, with the help of world-class trainers, who constantly deliver high-quality and engaging courses. As well as providing over a hundred language courses, Learnlight also focuses on providing intercultural and communication skills training, which helps learners develop their cultural intelligence and global mindset. It has worked with international institutions such as the European Central Bank and the United Nations.

In 2018, Learnlight expanded its presence in the US market by appointing Brett Walker as its US director. Walker brought his extensive experience in the corporate learning industry and helped Learnlight reach new heights in the US. Learnlight celebrated its 16th anniversary in 2023 by launching a project that showcased the diversity and creativity of its team members. The project aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cultural intelligence and the benefits of a learning culture.

Learnlight Teacher Reviews

Here are some reviews from Learnlight teachers:

  • One of the few good ESL companies to work for: "Learnlight has an excellent trainer system in place, and great materials to teach with. They allow you the freedom to teach using your own style, while still providing good guidelines for each lesson. The pay is decent, and the support team is very helpful and responsive. The only downside is that the hours are not very stable, and you might have periods of low or no bookings, especially in the summer. Overall, I enjoyed working for Learnlight and would recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible and professional online teaching job."
  • Very organised: "Learnlight is very organised and professional. They give you a payment calendar for the whole year and payments are always on time. Better bonuses become available after one year. The platform is easy to use and the materials are good. The students are mostly adults and very motivated. The support team is friendly and helpful. The only con is that the pay is low compared to other online teaching companies, and there is no guarantee of hours. You have to be flexible and willing to work at different times of the day."
