NOW HIRING NATIVE ENGLISH-LEVEL SPEAKING TEACHERS FOR A TEACHING OPPORTUNITY - START DATE: December 1, 2024

They are looking for experienced full-time classroom teachers who are familiar with and supportive of innovative, communicative, student-centered language instruction and the use of ed-tech apps in the classroom. This entails managing a student-centered classroom with regular, varied pair- and group-work activities, games, movement and creative in-class task-based projects as well as managing Google Classrooms for both in-class and asynchronous student use. Fun and effective conversational English instruction is our focus.  If you’re a qualified EFL teacher, we welcome you to join the team where innovation, creativity, professional and personal growth are at the heart of our institution!

They are a member of the American Cultural Association, a private, non-profit association with 12 Language Centers located in Morocco. Classrooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs with USB ports, computers, wifi, and AC. Our staff room and classroom hard drives are stocked with supplementary materials to assist you.

Professional development opportunities offered through them include in-house workshops and participation in our annual all-TEFL Conference. They also place a great emphasis on staff team building and development and making sure that teachers and admin staff have plenty of opportunities to connect, engage and have fun with each other.

More about us and our location: They have been serving their community since 1989. Mohammedia isn't well known outside of Morocco, which means the charming beaches and downtown park remains unspoiled by tourism. Since both are close to each other, you can spend a lovely day wandering through the city, enjoying the flowers in the park, and catching rays on the sand or while surfing the waves.

Although it is not a large city itself, it is a modern one, with many international and diverse culinary restaurants to try out. It is also only a short 30 minute train ride to the country's administrative capital, Rabat, and an even shorter 20 minute train ride to the country's financial hub, Casablanca.

The school in Mohammedia has beautiful facilities which include 21 classrooms themed by US cities and national parks, a hockey/basketball court, an open, turfed backyard area used for sports and events, a large outdoor stage, a playground and a large cafeteria and indoor event room. They've adopted project-based learning as a pedagogical foundation of our curriculum and put a strong emphasis on innovation and shaping education to our ideals. They have a collaborative team that supports each other with help, questions, challenges and solutions. They believe that their center is only as strong as our staff community and therefore spend great efforts organizing team building activities such as staff karaoke competitions, bowling and ice skating days, hiking day trips, beach days, sports days, and more!

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading clubs for students - weekly meetings conducted in English on a wide variety of topics (such as US History & Culture, drama, public speaking).
  • Participating in operations committee meetings including meetings and follow-up tasks and activities.
  • Managing the extra help desk and contributing to curricular goals and projects as needed.

Additional Benefits

  • Monthly housing stipend
  • Health insurance (80% reimbursed including medical, dental, prescription drugs & hospitalization)
  • One month yearly paid vacation
  • Survival Moroccan Arabic language lessons
  • Rich Professional Development Opportunities
