Job Details

This eco School is an educational program focused on English language immersion and ecology, featuring English native-speaking teachers, aimed at first-year secondary school students from the province of Alava (Basque Country).

Each school sends between 40 and 50 students each week, who participate in a 5-day stay during October-November and from January to June at the Barria hostel (https://maps.app.goo.gl/67qpFn469xVd1uvw6).

The program includes fun classes and workshops in English, adapted to the students' age and level. The focus is on living in English—full immersion and oral communication development. It also includes an introduction to organic gardening, biodiversity, ecosystems, composting, recycling, science workshops, and more.

The first working day is Monday, October 14th, and the program runs for 23 non-consecutive weeks, grouped according to the school and holidays calendar.

Additional Benefits

The salary is calculated per week worked (a fixed-term contract is offered under the teaching and leisure activities agreement), although payment is made at the end of each month. In a month where all weeks are worked, the gross salary is €1,323, but this salary is prorated during months where not all weeks are worked.

Accommodation and meals are included during the weeks when programmed activities take place and during the weekends if you stay in the hostel.

Requirements

The team consists of two co-directors (usually Spanish) who must know English and Basque, and four native-level English-speaking teachers. All teachers must preferably hold a university degree, have TEFL certification with an accreditation, teaching experience (preferably in English), and experience as a leisure activity leader.
