Job Overview
They are looking for committed and enthusiastic teachers of English to join their international team of ELT professionals in Vietnam.
It has a large and fast-growing network of centers that is expanding to meet high levels of market demand. There are currently nine centers (five in HCMC and four in Hanoi), and further centers are expected to open in the upcoming months of 2024.
You will join in May 2024 or August 2024 but it is negotiable, subject to resource needs start dates can be earlier.
The national teaching team, which is over 147 strong and expected to grow to over 180 by the end of 2023 and early 2024, is supported by a national management network. There are academic, product, and professional development managers as well as a comparable number of coordinators whose role is to provide support for teachers, effective learning, and the smooth and compliant running of our teaching operations.

- Responsibilities & Main Duties:
- To plan, prepare and deliver effective English language teaching that meets the needs of different learner groups
- To monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage learners’ performance throughout the course, and to actively promote learner autonomy
- To contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services, in order to best meet learners’ needs
- To complete teaching-related administrative tasks to specified standards
- To actively engage in professional development and performance management systems and procedures to assure high standards in teaching and learning
- To contribute positively to the British Council’s reputation and position as a benchmark standard in best practice in the sector
- To support marketing and promotional activities and to assist the teaching team in delivering excellent customer service
- To ensure safeguarding standards are rigorously applied and upheld in line with applicable policy in the following areas:
- Child protection
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
- Health and safety

- Passport requirements- Applicants must be potentially eligible to work in Vietnam and must hold a passport that has at least two blank pages and at least 6 months remaining validity.
- Vaccination Status - Need proof of double vaccination to be eligible for a Vietnamese work permit
- Work schedule (as per operational needs): Teaching schedules typically involve both evening work and working on Saturdays and Sundays – the times at which most teaching activity takes place.
- Teachers may be required to work in one or more centres in the city they are based in, but the scheduling policy is to restrict teaching to one location only on any given day.
- Schedules are subject to change periodically, but advance notice is given. Should operational needs require, teachers may be asked to carry out teaching-related non-teaching tasks in lieu of teaching (e.g. developing teaching materials, administrative tasks etc.) as part of their scheduled hours.
